Students will study the fundamentals of electronic systems, power transmission, rigging, climbing, and safety and will get hands on experience with MSU-Northern’s new wind turbines. This one year certificate will articulate with a two year Associate of Applied Science degree in wind energy technology, expected to be available next year. It will also articulate into Northern’s four year Industrial Technology degree. Wind energy development is growing exponentially every year, and the industry needs skilled workers with wind energy experience. MSU-Northern’s Sustainable Energy Technology Certificate of Applied Science (CAS) is a one year (30 credit) program designed to give students a solid foundation in the operation and maintenance of commercial and residential wind generators. Graduates of the program will gain the skills needed for entry positions into the wind energy industry. Larry Strizich Trygve "Spike" Magelssen Terry Schend
